《美国文化与电影》是针对已通过英语四级的非英语专业学生，也适合英语专业基础阶段的学生和英语爱好者学习使用。《美国文化与电影》共分为12章，以美国文化为主线，主要涉及美国的历史、政治、经济、宗教、地理、教育、文学、艺术、风俗节日、体育、旅游等重要主题。每个单元包括pre-reading activities、Text A、Text B、Text C以及more to learn四大部份。在more to learn部分对教学内容及重难点有一定的延伸和拓展，并选取与每个章节主题相关的经典影视作品片段，包括该电影的主要内容、节选片段的主要表达及台词理解、文化注释及可供学生讨论的话题。很后推荐类似主题的电影素材。
