本书是在针叶树成果基础上进行。抢先发售以生命变化过程观点,测定阔叶树单株内符合发育研究要求位点木材性状的发育变化表现。本书报导三种木材结构类型十二种阔叶树次生木质部构建中发育变化过程。测定的性状都与树茎的输导和支持功能有关,十二种阔叶树次生木质部发育过程呈共同的生存适应趋势。从它们构建过程变化的类同可印证出次生木质部发育中存在着遗传控制。本书~4章与前书、2部分作用相当,这些内容是著者在重新体会中另拟稿并精要;其他各章都是有关阔叶树研究的专篇。树木次生木质部构建过程中存在生物生命共性发育现象,在针、阔叶树研究的实验结果中都得到了充分证明。
