地区研究(Area Studies)是主要以国家规模的区域为对象，在注意各地区的共通性的同时，注意地区的特色并比较其他地区，广泛研究该地区的政治、经济、历史、产业、法律制度、社会、文化、民俗的学科。立足于横跨经济学、人类学、政治学、国际关系、历史和社会学等学科的视角，清华大学国际与地区研究院致力于向社会贡献关于特定国家和地区的深度研究，本书为研究院关于拉美、东南亚、南亚、中亚等地区区域研究与相关理论研究成果。
